Purpose of the Professional Advisory Committee:

  •  To augment the self-help model of BFO with professional expertise in the area of bereavement.
  •  To create a vision for the future of BFO programming.
 
Objectives:
  • To be responsible for establishing policies and practices consistent with BFO mandate (programming issues)
  • To be responsible for ensuring that programs in BFO meet the established quality assurance
 
Standards
  • To monitor/review needs and establish programs to meet the needs of the bereaved in the community
  • To support/develop bereaved facilitators through facilitator training program
  •  To recruit qualified supervisors for current programs
  • To provide public education in the area of bereavement (community outreach)
  • To screen and support appropriate research in the field of bereavement
  • To report to the Board current issues and future directions of PAC and BFO
